FBI VEU Feldkirch – EC-KAC II
FBI VEU Feldkirch switched on third place and as the best not Italian team into the new year. The year 2017 the west-club starts with two home-games vs. EC-KAC II (Mon) and their neighbour in the standing HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice (Tue). After Christmas Bernhard Bock and Co. played strong in the defense: The West-Austrians beat Leader Rittner Buam (3:1) and HC Neumarkt Riwega (4:1), receiving just one goal per game. Their big aim to reach the Master Round and Play-off Feldkirch got really close already. The next step should be done now in the next two home-games on Monday and Tuesday. Against EC-KAC II the West-Austrians won so far all meetings, while at Jesenice they lost the first season-clash by one goal with 2:3.
EC-KAC II has early in the year 2017 twice the chance to end their bad run on the road: On Monday the Red Jackets visit Feldkirch and on Tuesday then Lustenau. Lately Klagenfurt was defeated on the road nine times in a row and made just twelve goals. Against both west-clubs EC-KAC II could not win so far.
EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau – HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice
With EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice two neighbours in the standing will face on Monday in their first game on the year 2017 in Lustenau. The Slovenes are with 48 points or 16 wins from 24 games Fourth, the Lions follow with 45 points or 14 wins from 24 matches close behind on place 5. Both teams will play another game then just 24 hours later: The west-club hosts bottom-club EC-KAC II and the Slovenes continue their trip to Feldkirch. For EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau and HDD SIJ Aroni Jesenice these two games are important in the fight for a Top 6 spot, which would mean a ticket for the Master Round and Play-off already after round 30! Looking at the standing the teams from Asiago (44 points) and Cortina (42) follow close behind on the places 6 and 7. It is so far the ninth clash between Lustenau and Jesenice: The Austrians won until now all four home-games against the „Red Steelers“. But take attention: The first season-clash was won by Jure Sotlar and Co. and it meaned their first ever win over the Lions. Also the first season-clash with Feldkirch the Slovenes won. Lustenau is still unbeaten in meetings with EC-KAC II.
EC Bregenzerwald – Red Bull Hockey Juniors
EC Bregenzerwald showed two different faces lately: While the Wälder lost so far all games on the road, the West-Austrians got points from the last six home-games, winning four of them. On Monday Christian Ban and Company now host Red Bull Hockey Juniors and want to show their home-strength again after lately three losts. In their last two home-games the Wälder just received two goals per game.
For the last time in the regular season in SKY Alps Hockey League the Red Bull Hockey Juniors must climb the bus on Monday. The aim is Dornbirn, where the Red Bulls will face EC Bregenzerwald. So far the Mozart Citizens celebrated three wins from 14 road-games. Their last road-win the tenth placed team celebrated in their last road-game at Ghederina with 4:2. Besides the Red Bull Hockey Juniors were so far successful in all five clashes with the Wälder, the first season-meeting the Red Bulls won at home even 5:0.
HC Neumarkt Riwega – HC Gherdeina valgardena.it
HC Neumarkt Riwega (2W/5L) and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it (3W/4L) were defeated in December more often, then they won. Lately the „wildgeese“ had problems to score, made just three goals in the last three rounds. Nevertheless Neumarkt got one win. On Monday arrives HC Gherdeina valgardena.it at Neumarkt. The horses got a win at Salzburg lately. In the ranking Gherdina is on place 14, Neumarkt Eleventh. For both the Top 6 are unattainable. The first season-clash won Neumarkt 6:3.
WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan – Sportivi Ghiacco Cortina Hafro - CANCELLED
The SKY Alps Hockey League game WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan vs. Sportivi Ghiacco Cortina Hafro, which was planed for Tuesday, is posponed, because of particular and special circumstances. The new game day will be announced as soon as possible..
EC „Die Adler“ Stadtwerke Kitzbühel – EK Zeller Eisbären
For EC „Die Adler“ Stadtwerke Kitzbühel the last five home-games were an up and down, wins and defeats always rotated. Lately the Eagles lost at home against HC Pustertal Wölfe 2:4. If this series continues the Tyroleans must start the year 2017 on Monday with a home-win over EK Zeller Eisbären. The first season-meeting Peter Lenes and Co. won at Zell am See 5:2. EK Zeller Eisbären gambled away their chances to reach the Master Round in December. The Polar Bears lost last month all six games. Following the slogan – new year, new luck - Wilfan and Company want to return on the winning street in the first game 2017. On Monday the Polar Bears travel to Kitzbühel, where they won the last three times.
HC Pustertal Wolves – Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935
With HC Pustertal Wolves and Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey 1935 will face the two teams of the hour on Monday. The „Wolves“ won their last five games and fixed lately as the second team the Qualification for the Master Round and the Play-off. Asiago even won their last 13 games (!) and is in sixth place and also on a good way to finish in the Top 6. Both teams also have to defend another good series: The second placed club won their last ten home-games, while Asiago was successful on the road lately seven times in a row. Who can extend this run? The last nine clashes between this two clubs won the Wolves!
HC Fassa Falcons – Rittner Buam
Late at 20:45 starts on Monday the game HC Fassa Falcons vs. Leader Rittner Buam. The Falcons surprised in their last game 2016 with a big 7:2 win over Jesenice and underlined their home strength: In December Fassa so won all three home-games. Leader Rittner Buam on the other side lost last round at home for surprise against FBI VEU Feldkirch with 1:3. After four home-games in a row the Italian Champion will play now on Monday at Fassa for the first time since December 13th on the road again. The Leader is with 29 points or ten wins from twelve road-games also the number 1 on the road. The first season-clash won Ritten clearly 8:1.
